Kaiako
Kia ora my name is Melisa.
I am in my first year of teaching as a fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher. I have a Bachelor of Education (teaching) in Early Childhood Education and I am working towards my full registration. I have been working in early childhood for the past 8 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. My joy is watching children grow into competent and confident children, and know that I was part of a teaching team that work together to support all children to become confident and competent learners before they leave to go to school. I am from Wanganui but I have lived in Upper Hutt for the past 24 years. My soon to be husband and I have two children, Blake who is 9, and Ellah-Rose who is 3. I look forward to working with you all and being part of your child’s learning. -

Kaiako
My name is Petra Jennings and I am a teacher at Busy Beez Early Childhood Centre. I work with the 2 to 5 year olds in the preschool area, however I help out in the nursery when needed.
I have a background in Primary School teaching and I graduated from Wellington College of Education in 2004. I worked as a relieving Primary school teacher for 7 years, took a break and then returned to teaching for a further 2 years. Through a colleague I decided to transfer to the Early Childhood Education sector and I am now in my second year af Busy Beez as a fully qualified teacher. I am constantly learning new skills and challenges while working with preschool children. It is great to witness and be a part of the development of children, as they grow physically, mentally and spiritually. When I am not at work I enjoy physical exercise such as walking and swimming when I have time. I also love to spend time with my family and friends and I love to sing. I have been known to be seen behind the microphone at karaoke events! -
