Rebekah Parker
Head Teacher
Kia ora Whanau,
Ko Rebekah tōku ingoa
My name is Rebekah Parker, also by the tamariki and kaiako as Whaea Becks.
I have been immersed in Early Childhood education for the last 20 years. I’ve always been a passionate kaiako who is driven by tamariki learning outcomes and seeing their success. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our tamariki develop a love for learning in their early years. Reaching milestones and turning into our youngest confident, confident akonga.
I am the The head Teacher and Center manager of Fairfield Educare and have spent the last few years supporting this little center grow and flourish alongside the incredible kaiako I work alongside.
I bring with me the many years of experience and knowledge within the Te Whariki and Montessori curriculum.
My absolute love is my whanau. They are my world and what drives me everyday. I’m also a real animal lover, reader of books, and an avid netball player.
I look forward to meeting you and working alongside your tamariki.

Penny Tonkin
Kaiako
Hello, my name is Penny Wesley-Miller-Tonkin. I have been working in the Early Childhood Sector for quite a while now, and I really enjoy working with the ladies here, and the little ones. I am the mother of two grown sons, and I am a grandmother of an expanding family.
Interests outside of centre life: I have learned to fly small planes, scuba dive, shown and bred dogs, I am an avid traveller, and am now enjoying entering local 5km walks and enjoy watching crime series on T.V.

Mel Hooper
Kaiako
Kia ora and Talofa Whanau. My name is Whaea Mel and I have been at Fairfield Educare since it opened under new management in Jan 2022.
Originally from Christchurch, myself and my Aiga, relocated to Levin from Auckland in early 2022.
I have 4 tamariki of my own, with my youngest in the nursery at Fairfield.
I have been teaching for over 15 years now and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I’ve worked in a variety of roles within ECE over my career and enjoy the flexibility teaching provides, no day is ever the same. I look forward to working alongside you and your whanau, sharing your tamati’s learning journey and all their milestones along the way.
