Sheena
HEAD TEACHER
I have worked in the education sector for eleven years, five years as a teachers aide and the last six years as an early childhood teacher. I gained my bachelor of teaching at the end of 2020 and have since been working towards gaining my full registration. Education is a passion of mine and I have found a home in the ECE sector. Forming meaningful and reciprocal relationships with whānau, tamariki, staff and the wider community is important to me and the foundation of my personal teaching philosophy. Te Ao Māori is a significant part of my teaching practice and is something that is close to my heart and is woven throughout my personal and professional life. I believe in developing a culture which is focused on learning, and is characterised by respect, inclusion, empathy, collaboration and safety. My whānau moved to Levin from Wellington when I was 12 and we have been living here ever since. I have a teenage son who is currently attending Waiopehu College. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with whanau, friends, playing netball and softball.
