Amy Newman
Head Teacher
Kia Ora, my name is Amy Newman, I am the Head Teacher here at Little Farm Preschool and Nursery.
I hold a diploma of teaching, am fully registered and have a current first aid certificate.
I live rurally in Ohau with my husband and 2 children. We have several small animals that keep us busy and on our toes. In the weekends we enjoy visiting the river with our dog, motorbike riding and spending time as a family.
I strongly believe in open and clear communication and building warm and loving relationships with tamariki and whānau. By having these we will have this will help build strong resilient children that will thrive for years to come.
I have been in Early Childhood for nearly 20 years, working full and part time while I started my family. Over those years I have been involved in running and managing centres. I look forward to meeting you and your whānau being involved in your child’s learning journey, please don’t hesitate to come and see me if you have any concerns big or little.

Alicia
NURSERY - ROOM LEADER
Kia ora, I’m Alicia.
I’ve been working in early childhood education for over 10 years and hold a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE). I’ve lived on the Kāpiti Coast my whole life and am now settled in Paraparaumu with my partner and our three tamariki.
I’m passionate about creating a warm, nurturing environment where tamariki feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. I see each child as a unique individual, full of potential, and I love helping them discover who they are.
I have a strong Māori affiliation and weave te reo and tikanga Māori into my daily practice. I value respectful, reciprocal relationships with children, their whānau, and my colleagues, and I believe in the concept of ako—where we all learn from and with one another.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing netball, being creative, and spending quality time with my whānau. I’m proud to be part of this learning community and feel privileged to support each tamaiti on their journey.

ROOM 4
Kia Ora, my name is Nicole. I have lived on the Kāpiti Coast my entire life and appreciate how beautiful coastal living is. I have recently completed a degree in Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) at Whitireia Community Polytechnic in Porirua. I am looking forward to putting the skills and knowledge I have gained through my study to use with your tamariki.
I value spending time with my family and friends and have a son called Dante . I enjoy being outside in nature, reading and taking walks. My experience of being a parent ignited my passion to enrich children’s learning and development. I thrive on enhancing a child’s learning through their interests so they can maximise their learning potential. I enjoy working on my own teaching potential so that I can be of even more support. It is a pleasure to be working in the Early Childhood Education sector doing what I love. -
